The Peasant Part 5
“We, the jury find Mr. Jeffrey Dardauly guilty of burglary, attempted murder and high treason. He will suffer execution by drawing and quartering ten days from now,â? a woman said while we were nearing the end of my trial. I could not believe that I was to spend ten days in prison waiting to be executed. The fashion was hanged, drawn and quartered. It is a disgusting act, as they first will put me in iron shackles, and will be dragged to the Common Place of Execution. They then will hang me until I am near death, and then cut me down while I still live. After that, they will disembowel me and remove my privy-members and burn the parts as I watch. After that, they will remove my head and the slice up my body into four pieces and then show what is left to strong-stomached civilians. All I can hope for is that they cut me down too late and I die on the gallows.
