And so we sat, just several feet away from each other. And suddenly it was just like the beginning.
But then again, it wasn’t…
Since then, part of me had decintigrated, taking the blue along with it, and replacing it with nothingness… blackness.
Yet I’m here, looking into her eyes again, as if nothing had ever happened… as if that black hole had faded. She touches my hand softly.
“I’m sorry… for everything I’ve ever done…”
I couldn’t say anything. All I could do was stare into her eyes and try to figure everything out, but to no avail…
After a long period of silence, she pulled something out of her pocket, and took my hand.
“I want you to have this…”
A key? I asked with my eyes.
“Yes… the key to my heart…”
She closed my hand into a fist before embracing me one last time. Then she took her coat and began heading towards the door, trying to hide her tears. I opened my hand to gaze upon the silver key. A tear rolled down my cheek.
