Well, it does rain quite often in Hawaii, but usually for brief periods of time depending on where you are. You kind of have to expect it when you’re there.
You slip between past and present tense a lot in this story. I think if you straightened that out you’d have a much better piece.

Nothing worse than rain on the perfect day, whether at a sporting event or at the beach. Now, snow, on the other hand, makes any day better.

Hope its’ not a monsoon.

@Ana: First, snow is more likely than rain to get you out of school. Second, it’s fun to play in. Third, it’s so darned relaxing. I love snow! I love wrapping up in a blanket next to the fire, reading a book while snow falls softly to the ground outside the window. Rain, on the other hand, makes everything a little bit drearier.

OK, fine,tbs, you win. I’ve never seen snow, never really wanted to, but you make it sound strangely appealing.

good story, but in the 5th to last sentence the world “is” is in present tense, and should be changed to was :)
