The changing verb tense was confusing here, as well as the end of the second stanza and the beginning of the third. I like the imagery of lying on the floor, as if you’re on rock-bottom, and I like the moment of resolve to do it on your own. But the rest is kind of vague. (what is “its” that understands you? What is “the second” ?)
“its” Is referring to me, as since she left, I’m the only one who knows my true self. The second is referring to the women who came after her, whose name was also Amber, but I realized that it wasn’t right and let her go. Hope that helps.
