Real
“Okay, so when we were little, Jack was always, always in the hospital. And it wasn’t like the hospital where people are in physical pain or anything; it was like one you go to talk about your feelings to.â?
Trey stopped to look at my expression but I didn’t let him see anything. I didn’t know where the story was going yet.
“Yeah so, his mom died in like child birth so I guess Jack was messed up, you know. And when his mom died, his dad was like torn apart. He was always drinking and stuff.â?
I interrupted, “I think I know where this story is going.â?
“You only think…â? Trey said silently, strangely.
“What’s wrong?â? He suddenly looked extremely sad.
“Nothing, nothing; everything is fine.â? He sighed, “Okay, so when we were about twelve was when everything fell apart. It was almost like … he … didn’t want to live anymore. He was um, you know, always talking about dying and stuff. And he started turning sort of emo.â?
“What do you mean?â? I was pretty sure of what he meant, but it just didn’t seem … real.
