Jack's Story
Trey was whispering now. “I … I found him in the bathroom one day … with blood everywhere. It was … his suicide attempt that fell short. And it only did because I … saved him. But that day wasn’t even the hard part. The rest of the week, he hated me … he wanted me … to, to let him die. And no matter how bad of a friend he is … I just couldn’t do that.â?
My hand found Trey’s in the grass and I squeezed his. “Um wow, that’s more than I expected.â? I told him silently.
He nodded but smiled. “At least we are on the same page now. No more lies and no more secrets.â?
My smile faded before it even came. No more lies and no more secrets.
If only I could believe that but I wasn’t being completely truthful with him. Sure, I explained the major parts of Jack but I left out extreme violence and all the things Jack said to me. Could I bear to tell Trey that Jack had liked me … maybe even loved? Could I bear to see the pain that story would cause?
Oh wait. I still do have an option. Now, how to bring it up?
