Trevor Gets Away, Unscathed
“So what did you, like do?” Kelsie hesitantly hedged.
“I left. I just pushed him away and walked home. Did he do that to you?”
“No, but he showed me movies about people um, like, doing it.”
“Gross! What did you do?”
“I left, but he followed me home!”
“Oh he followed me too, but I made my big brother kick him off our porch.” Brittany sounded calmer now.
“So, like, did you dump him?”
“I didn’t say those words, but I don’t want to hang out with him anymore!”
“Then dump him tomorrow. In front of everyone! Make him, like, embarrassed!”
“He won’t be there.”
“What?! Why not?!”
“He’s moving.”
“Tomorrow? It’s Thursday!” Kelsie couldn’t believe it! He was getting away!
“Yeah, I guess his Mom couldn’t come up with the rent.”
“Well great! No one will know!”
“I know. But thanks for believing me.”
“This stinks!”
“Bye Kels.” click
Kelsie was dumbstruck, she paced her room, uttering curses at Trevor under her breath. She wrote a long letter to him, but threw it away. She finally convinced herself he was gone. Forever.
