Howls
I listened to the loud howls outside my door. They sounded very desperate. They could hear the pulse of my veins all the way outside.
They wanted my blood. They thrived on blood. Just the sound of my blood pulsing through my body, drove them wild. I peeked out my window, watching them stalk around my house. I had never thought that I would one day have “things” howling for me. The thought of it was really rather questionable, but regardless, they were there.
As I let out a sigh, I contemplated my life. I held my life in my hands and weighed it. I could simply open a door or window, and it would all be over. They would drain me of life so quickly, that it would almost be like sucking a drink from a straw until there was nothing left.
I turned on the fluorescent lights outside, and I giggled at the sound of their pain.
Bang, Bang, Bang!
They had started their late night pounding.
I shrugged my shoulders and padded up to bed.
Silently wishing I had had the courage to end it all.
