Coffee
“Let’s go. let’s just, go.” He was smiling, his eyes said he was desperate, pleading, and reckless.
“What? Stephen- be serious”
“I am being serious. We need to just get out of here, come on.” He grabbed my hand and started pulling me down the hallway. I started walking, giving up feebly.
We reached his car. “Stephen, where are we going?”
“Coffee.”
One word, but I knew what he ment. The coffee shop, where I was daydreaming about him, stirring coffee, where he first talked to me. I thought he was so amazing. So much has changed.
We drove in silence. The music was loud, but neither of us were listening. He kept looking over at me, like he was making sure I was still there or something. We got out and went over to the same table as before. We sat down. We ordered coffee. And then, he reached over the table, and kissed me. Just like my daydream. Except now, I didn’t want it. Not at all. As much as I wanted to like him like that, I didn’t. And I couldn’t make myself, no matter how hard I tried.
