Explainations
“Charlie? How could you?” Scarlet asked vehemently. Charlie had shown up, three days later. In her dorm room, nonetheless. He smirked. His hands held her face. She pulled away from him, glaring.
“I had to do something to get your attention. But, apparently, you go for the intelluctuals.” Charlie said angrily. He was refering to Holden.
Her face contorted with anger. Charlie’s eyes softened. “I’m-”
She cut him off. “You broke my heart with an empty seat. An empty seat, and an exhibit.” Her chin stuck out as she pointed to the door.
“I never got a chance to explain.” he stopped. “Wait. If you’re the Porcelain Clown, then it’s your fault that I couldn’t come!” he pointed out. “If you hadn’t stolen that money, I wouldn’t have gotten a call from the police, and I would have been able to come to the damn exhibit!” his eyes blazed.
“I never got to explain… anything.” Scarlet was equally angry. I didn’t choose his fate! How dare he be mad at me! “It started in England…” she began cautiously.
