Dinner and Candi
At dinner, I could barely eat. My chest was too full of butterflies, and my hands were trembling too much to even hold my fork steady.
My dad frowned.
“what’s wrong, Tyler? Not hungry tonight?”
I took a deep breath, trying to regain my composure.
“I.. I’m fine dad, I’m just… yea, I’m not… hungry…”
My mind could barely process the words, as it was occupied with the same vision of Rose’s face. I nearly reached out it seemed so real.
“Um, I’m gonna go to bed now, can you put my food up? I’ll eat it… later…”
I darted up the stairs and into my room, grabbing the phone and dialing Candi’s number. I had to tell someone.
“Hello?”
“Hey Candi! It’s.. Tyler.”
She seemed puzzled by my trance-like state.
“Er, you alright there, buddy?”
“Yea, I’m fine. Better than fine actually.”
“Well that’s good to hear! I expected you to be all down.”
I laughed slightly.
“Things aren’t always as they seem…”
“Haha, so what’s got you all happy, lil boy?”
I smiled along with image of Rose in my head.
