Discouraged

As of 5 PM Thursday, Courtney had survived her 25th job interview since beginning to look for work 7 days before. As of noon Friday, Courtney had received her 25th “thank you, but no thank you” notice.

Was she discouraged at this point? Possibly, but she kept trying to tell herself that she had known going in that she would be fighting an uphill battle. She supposed that having been a professional student for 15 years without bothering to work the entire time or or even participate in any resume building activities could be part of the problem.

The problem had been that she had loved school and couldn’t decide “what she wanted to be when she grew up.” It wasn’t until her trust fund disappeared along with THE WEASEL that she had to not only look for a job but find one immediately. By Monday she would be homeless and hungry.

Who knew someone could be overqualified for just about any type of position because of too much schooling but under qualified at the same time because of a lack of work experience?
