Peripheral Evil: Part 38 You Are Worthy
The glowing eyes of the demon cats trained on Moshie as he stepped from the safety of the stone. They lifted their noses in unison and sniffed the air. If Moshie hadn’t known better he could have sworn they smiled.
Though he was trembling, he started walking toward them. They had ceased their pacing, though they shifted their weight slightly from left to right. The other creatures gathered behind him, forcing Moshie to keep moving further along.
A soft growling purr was emanating from the demoncats as he reached them. One sat as the other stuck its foul smelling snout to his face, bearing a mouthful of hellish teeth. Moshie closed his eyes, unfortunate, he thought, that this would be the last vision he had as he passed into the unknown.
Then his ears filled with a cackling laughter, “You have been found worthy.”
Kara stood betwixt the demoncats, gently stroking their heads with a crazed look in her eyes. Moshie lost control of his faculties seeing this young beauty so comfortable against the beasts.
