Amethyst Frontiers: The Science

“I trust you’ve been monitoring the situation,” Frosbeld asked his old colleague.
“Indeed I have,” the dark woman stepped from the lift and found her place at a science station. She punched in her cypher-code and the panel came alive.
“What can you tell me,” Frosbeld approached, hoping, for once, that he could understand the woman. There were times when her propensity for technobabble rivaled that of the chief-engineer.
“The way I see it, Commander, we’re not loosing power at all,” she pointed to a linear graph that meant absolutely nothing to the acting-captain.
“Engineering disagrees, Major. Care to explain?”
“We’re not so much loosing power, as we’re more likely expending it exponentially,” her finger typed away, “You see the ship is caught in some sort of phase-wake,”
“What the hell is that?” Lucy shot in.
Brill sighed, “It’s only theoretical I think. But there was a paper publish at the Astro-Science institute by a Grenna stating that Phase Leaping was possible,”
Frosty Sighed. “What!?!?!?”
