As the band wrapped up their first song, the crowd began to ripple with applause as the satisfied fans cheered for their favorite song.
Richie thought he saw movement in the audience, but in the near darkness he wasn’t sure he’d seen anything. As the band began to play their next song, Richie saw it again, and this time he was sure he’d seen something.
Suddenly he heard shouting in the audience. Then, a gunshot. Richie was startled when he heard, but he was even more surprised to see blood coming out of his arm. He dropped his guitar, as he realised that the bullet had been aimed at his heart, and if he hadn’t been strumming, he would soon be dead.
Police hurled themselves into the audience, searching for whoever had shot the gun, while Richie tried to stop the bleeding. It had all happened in a split second…
