call

I wondered if he remembered it. If he intended to keep that promise. The idea popped up in my head obsessively. I dont see why a childhood memory is so bothersome. I didnt even know how to reach him now.
Maybe my mom would have his phone number.
Afterall our parents were good friends.
“Hmm.”
I played with the thought.
I invisioned what he would look like now.
The idea was so tempting when I walked by my mother I literally had to bite my tongue.
“Whats wrong sweetie.”
I was embarassed to ask.
This was ridiculous.
“I was wondering..”
“Wondering..?”
“If you had the Burkways’s number?”
Why did I say that.
“Of course.”
To my suprise she smiled sweetly and wrote it down.
This was so unlike her.
“Thanks.”
I snatched it and nearly ran ack to my bedroom.
I dialed the number, but couldnt seem to press the send button.
Everytime my thumb was in the vaccinity of it my heart nearly leaped out of my chest, and I sweat bullets.
I cant do it.
I sighed and threw my phone at the bed.
I heard a soft ringing.
