Dinner for two
My head imediately turned to the phone face down on my comforter. I picked it up gingerly, looked around, then clicked the talk button.
“Hello?”
“Hi this is, wait, Anna?” Right away I recognized the voice.
“Yes,” I spoke slowly, and very softly.
“This is Tyler, do you remeber me?” His clear voice echoed through my ears, and made my heart go to over drive.
“Um, yeah.”
“Uh hi, I know this is kinda sudden but. . .are you doing anything tonight?” Tyler’s voice seemed timid and awkward.
I opened my mouth, but yet nothing came out. My legs lost their feeling. My head felt light.
“nnnno,” I managed to stutter.
“Great, I mean, uh well. . .would you like to meet me for dinner?”
I took a deep breath to steady myself.
“Sure, I guess that would nice. Where?” I replied, building up my courage.
“Uh,does Angel’s sound ok?”I tried to remember it. When I did, I put my hand to my forehead. It was an old tavern that stood on a hill, behind it was a beautiful field with bright orange poppies in early summer.
“OK”
