“I’m gonna have to take you in with me son.”
“Can I just go back up to my room first to explain things to my girl? She’s here in the hospital.”
“I’ll have to walk with you. I can’t let you out of my site.”
Jack nodded & they both headed up to Anna’s room.
“Jack what is going on? You tell me right now or so help me-”
“Shh hey calm down,” Jack said taking her hand, but she yanked it away & folded her arms.
“Well?”
“There was a man in our hotel room & he was rumaging through our stuff. We got in a fight & there was knife involved so he’s gotta take me in.”
Anna put the pieces together.
“Jack…” her face grew pale, but she knew if she mentioned that Jack had planned to hurt Lance, Jack would go to jail for sure.
“I love you. I’ll be back as soon as I can.” Jack kissed her forehead.
As mad as Anna was she couldn’t help it. She grabbed his shirt & pulled him back in & kissed his lips. She didn’t know when she’d see him again. Jack ran his thumb across her cheek & smiled.
He kissed Taylor’s head & left.
