If you don’t mind an unsolicited writing critique: this piece doesn’t really get going until the last paragraph. The rest of it is kind of dull, honestly. One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever heard about writing dialogue says to skip the boring social niceties (“how are you?” “fine” etc.) and skip straight to the emotional or dramatic center of the conversation. You’d have done a lot better to start with “So why did you want to meet me here tonight”.
