The First Time
Unfortunately, the next day came quickly. I actually contemplated skipping but the truth was I was terrified to talk to Spencer. Well, not really talk but you know.
I was just hoping that he wouldn’t break my mask and make me talk. And I was hoping that I wasn’t dreaming about him wanting me.
My first couple classes were so bored; I couldn’t even bring myself to mention them. And then came lunch. I grabbed an apple and sat down at an empty table in the back of the café. I started looking around for Spencer but then stopped myself.
He always appeared out of no where anyway. “Hey.â? He sat down across me slowly, almost like he was going to catch me if I tried to run. “Um what’s up?â? he asked me, smiling. Hoping I would reply.
Nothing much. I’m just in awe that you’re sitting across from me. I just wished I could say that out loud. Instead, I took a bit of my apple to ease the silence.
“That’s the first time I’ve seen you ever open your mouth.â? He joked and I smiled, despite what I really wanted to say.
