Reflect My Heart (Part 8)
She squeaked in shock, her hand rising up to cover her mouth.
He laughed; his eyes crinkling in the corners and his thin lips spread wide to let loose his joy.
“So it’s TRUE !” she managed to gasp out. He leaned back in the chair, which looked exactly like Her chair. She turned to check, but he still wasn’t behind her, only in the mirror.
“Did… did your parents kill you Charles? Is that why you haunt this house?” He laughed again, which made Caitlyn feel even more ignorant.
“Firstly, my name is not Charles. Charles was my father’s name. My name is Phoenix.” Caitlyn felt her eyebrow raise at the name. Phoenix. How… nice.
“Secondly,” he said, standing up and walking closer to the mirror, “Technically I’m not dead. I’m just… I guess you could say in ‘Limbo’.” Caitlyn plopped backwards into the chair, feeling a bit woozy.
“SO this is it. My brain has finally snapped under the pressures of the teenage world,” she said, rubbing her temples.
