Reflect My Heart (Part 11)

It was hard for Caitlyn to sleep. All she kept thinking about was how Phoenix was somewhere RIGHT there, and he always will be. To have some strange boy able to watch your every move and you never know if he is or isn’t certainly didn’t put her mind at ease.
She turned onto her right side slowly, sneaking a peek at the mirror. It put her mind slightly at ease to see Phoenix actually laying on the floor, seemingly asleep. It made her feel a pang of regret. She wondered if, in limbo, he could feel pain? I mean, if he was going to be trapped there for all eternity, why should he not be able to at least get some decent sleep on a soft bed.
“Phoenix,” she whispered. His eyes popped open. “Were you sleeping?” she said, propping herself up on one elbow. He shook his head and sat up. “What’s wrong?”
Caitlyn shrugged and said, “You can have the bed.” She began to pull her stuff off of it when he interjected.
“No, it’s your bed. You have it. I’m comfy here.” Caitlyn laid down next to where he would have been and slept.
