Sangsue- part 20

I reread the note, five six more times, laughing quietly when Bree popped her sense of humor in it. ‘I’m in safe hands,’ it read. Where is safe for her, who is watching her. I wondered. I looked to my left to see her little hamster gone too. Intelligent little Alec was taking along with Bree, but that would make perfect sense. She would want something or someone to make her keep remembering home.
I walked like a zombie around her house, as if Bree would just jump out from behind a corner yelling, “Gotcha!” But she didn’t. I walked upstairs to Bree’s room. I looked through all the books randomly before curling up in a ball on her bed, wishing that we Sangsue could cry. That would at least help me with the pain.
I heard someone knock on the door, followed by those someones knocking the door down. There were people running around downstairs, crashes verberating below. Whoever it was was stomping up the stairs now, coming into the room. “Ginkloo, you’re under arrest,” Someone shouted. I still didn’t move.
