I like how you tell about the fact that he is trapped in new york… after 200 years… Is he immortal? It opens a whole new venue of questions to be answered.

N, I think it just means most everyone living in New York left 200 years ago. Not necessarily that he lived 200 years. That’s what I got from it, at least.
