Bad Day
I walked to my front door and moaned in annoyance and fear. I took a deep breath, plastered a smile on my face and opened the door.
“Hey Nick!” I said in a fake cheey voice that I hoped he couldn’t see through. He brushed by me into my kitchen. I followed him and found him already pouring himself a glass of my coffee.
“How are you?” I asked, fighting to keep my voice upbeat.
“Fine, I missed you though.” He said, walking over and kissing me. It was then he noticed the t.v. was on. He walked over to my living room and took in Pretty Women playing and the ice cream carton and spoon on my coffee table.
“Bad night?” He asked coldly as I joined him there.
“No..” I said, trying not to let him see the truth in my eyes.
“Don’t lie to me!” He screamed. I cringed slightly and that set him off worse. He smacked my stomach, hard.
“I’m going to go to the bathroom…” I told him, fighting back my tears.
