Near a Street Light
“Hey you.” He called quietly, walking up to. “Whatcha doing out here by yourself?”
“Waiting.” She answered, not looking up at him as he continued his approach.
“For?” He asked coyly, already knowing the answer.
“Someone.” She replied, keeping her face even.
By now he had reached her. He wrapped his arms around her from behind. “Well you don’t have to wait any longer.”
She turned in his arms and gazed into the eyes she liked so well. His brown hair was wet and looked black in the darkness of the night. The near by street light glinted off his eyes making them sparkle.
He stroked her brown hair, playing with her natural curls that fell loosly around her shoulders. “I love your hair like this.”
She laughed and wrinkled her nose. “I didn’t do anything, just let it air dry.”
He shrugged, “I still think it makes you look adorable.”
“Thanks.” She smiled and kissed him playfully. He laughed at her sillyness, both thoroughly enjoying the other’s company.
