They drove me further and further away from where I lived, pausing once to blindfold me, in case I was some spy for the Sangsue. And the entire time I was telling them about my life. They found it quite fascinating that I would love a disease, but I ignored their comments and dropped the conversation as soon as it began. Thankfully, Jackson stopped their questioning, seeing as it made me upset.
When they took the blindfold off I couldn’t help but gasp. It was a rundown town, with buildings toppling over left and right. “What the-?” I began to ask. Oliver didn’t wait for me to finish my question before saying, “This is what happens to places invaded by the Sangsue. Once all humans are wiped out they try and eat themselves. And if you walk over to the town’s cementary you’d find it in ruins from the Sangsue digging corpses up and eating them.” I had to swallow the bile coming up my throat. The Sangsue here did this…what doesn’t say they Sangsue won’t do this at home. Parker being one of them.
