Nice little ficlet back in the realm of the tangible. Though it might be a little abrupt, I don’t think it’s too bad. I also like how you dated the characters and gave us more of a setting.
I often think about the gentlemen sitting out on the Mall benches. I never want to look on them with pity, knowing someone is probably off shopping leaving them to their thoughts, because that may not be the case. But I always wondered what kind of things Malls could put there to make them more comfortable? A coffee machine? Pillows at the service desk? Magazines?
Maybe all they want is company! you know, next time I go to the mall, I’ll sit down next to one of those old men and talk to them. I’ll let you guys know how that goes!
