Special Day
I stood in the room and gazed at myself in the floor length mirror before me. My dress was a gorgeous strapless that flowed down to brush the floor. My crystal kitten heals were only visible when I took a step forward.
The sound of a gentle knock on the door startled me. My mom walked in, tears already in her eyes, and my dad was close behind.
“Sweety, your gorgeous!” My mother exclaimed. I smiled in return.
“Hunny?” A small voice called from outside the door. “May we come in?”
“Of course!” I said, my voice breaking ever so slightly. My grandma walked in, wheeling my papa in as well. My grandparents had always been very close and involved in my life, how could I deny them to be part now?
My grandma had tears streaming down her face already, and my papa’s eyes were misted over. The only one who wasn’t tearry-eyed was my father, yet.
“One minute.” A helper said. Everyone but my dad and I left.
“Ready?” I asked.
“I’m as ready as I’ll ever be, baby.” He said, taking me in a big bear hug.
