Crushing the Girl
I had really, really expected him to notice me in his classes. But, instead, he payed no attention to her, almost as if she didn’t exist.
Before, when she had gone out with guys, they had always pretended she wasn’t there (that was normal) but they still snuck peeks towards her. He didn’t.
He talked with his friend, his head not once turning towards her. Had he never cared? When he had broken up with her she had barely believed it. She thought it was some sort of little thing, that they would end up together again.
Throughout the day it was the same. She was begging for his attention, and he wouldn’t give it to her.
The wall he had made between them crushed her in a corner, and the rest of the day she was emotionally detached, almost lifeless.
He was killing her, and he knew it.
