Taking Off

Twilah’s heart thudded in her chest, as she remembered that night with him on Candi’s patio. She remembered his black midnight hair and emerald eyes. Twilah thought of how he was so close to her face and wished more than anything right then that she was with him at that very second. Twilah then felt a light tap on her shoulder. It was Millie. Twilah took her ear pieces out.
“Hey Sweetie, sorry to interrupt but the flight attendant told me to tell you that you needed to put your ipod away until they tell you, you can take it back out.” She said. Twilah hadn’t even noticed that they were about to take off.
“Oh. Thanks. I didn’t even notice.” Twilah said.
Millie smiled at Twilah. Twilah turned off her ipod and put it on hold. She watched out the window as the plane turned. It began to accelerate. She loved the sensation of when the plane went down the runway. Her body leaned against the seat and she stared out the window. Everything was a blur. Then there was a small bump, and they were in the air.
