It’s quite left to reader interpretation: is Liza a mute, terminally refusing anyone to avoid pity and strange looks about her condition, or rather she’s a clever girl, thinking that signing her request was far more better than stuttering it, and more appopriate to a sign language class?

Yeah, I think I got that. Is the ”…come at my place…” instead of ”…come to my place…” indicative of preposition use in sign language? I’m not familiar enough with it. Or is English your second language, since ‘at’ and ‘to’ are the same word in other Romance languages, like French.
