I am Brit (Trying to be Calm)
The deep breaths helped some. I was able to slow the sobbing, at least. “Good. Now why don’t you start from the beginning?” he asked politely.
I took another deep breath to calm myself, “This morning, Cooper asked me if I was going to the big West game.”
“Uh-huh,” he commented as I paused, letting me know he was still listening.
“And I remembered when I was in cheerleading, how it was a big focus of the season. We all knew the date. It was ingrained in our minds.” I took another deep breath, happy to see that that was helping a bit. I was beginning to feel slightly calmer.
“Yes?” Vaughn said, his tone slightly confused. He was looking for the issue here.
I sighed, this was probably going to sound awkward. “And I remember thinking about how… how lucky I was that my period should have just ended by that game.”
“Um,” he said. I could almost hear him blushing.
I was close to crying again, “But I’m late! And… and… I’m pregnant.” I dissolved into tears again, losing my focus on calm.
