A Tea Party

Mrs. Harper sat down and looked at her watch. She was expecting Dr. Brenhieser for tea. She looked around at the elegant walls of her house and sighed contentedly. Just then, Dr. Brenhieser walked in.

“Good afternoon Mrs. Harper.” he said.

“Hello! Here have a cup of tea!” she insisted.

Dr. Brenhieser looked uncomfortable and he made a note on his clipboard.

“How have you been?” he asked.

“Quite well thank you. And yourself?”

Instead of answering he shot another question at her, “What is the name of your husband?” he asked.

Tears welled up in her eyes. “Dr. Brenhieser, you are aware that my husband passed away several years ago.”

He made another note on his clipboard.

She stood up and adjusted a frame on the wall. Dr. Brenhieser gave her an odd look then said “I’m going to be leaving now if you down mind.” Mrs. Harper waved goodbye.

“Well Mr. Harper your wife’s condition is not improving.” The doctor said.

Mr.Harper sighed and sadly exited the hospital’s mental ward.
