I wasn’t thinking pet either, but it makes sense, the lumps, the neighbor helping, the cremation. Very sad, and i see you’ve used BOTH lines, you cunning devil you.

See for me the story got sadder when I found out it wasn’t a person( I am generally not BIG on people). Dogs are generally sweeter and more useful than people so the little twist at the end really upped the poignancy of the piece.

ohhhh i thot he was talking about his wife the whole time… cool twist ending. Doctors can be real jerk-offs, ya know?
