There were humans everywhere. There were Sangsue everywhere. Both of them, just walking around as if there was nothing different about the species. Assorted sets of blue, brown, purple, and green eyes stared at me for the expression on my face. “Parker…”
“Yep, you are seeing correctly. And no, those aren’t contacts. They’re Sangsue.”
“But…but…” I watched a group of kids running into a school, some with the trademark purple eyes, others without, “But Sangsue eat people!” i couldn’t take this in. It made no sense.
“Not all of them. There are few others cities like this, and they’re trying to expand. And it’s one of the few places were we can be together and not get stared at.”
“Really?” Parker nodded, “Shall we?” He took my hand and we walked further into the city i thought could never, ever exist.
