Residing Dreams (Chapter 94)
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine; you make me happy when skies are grey; you’ll never know dear how much I love you; please don’t take my sunshine away.” I took in his words with every peice of my senses. The sweet melody enveloped me until it was in me as a whole. I didn’t realize it, but I had been crying. “Essie, we’ll make it through this together. I know it may not sound convincing, but we can. Even though we’ll be miles apart, we’ll always be under the same sky,” Dad whispered to me. He understood. He knew. He heard. He saw. He felt. Another tear rolled down his face. “Flight 17 to London now boarding,” the flight attendant announced. “Well, that’s me,” I said, trying to sound casual. “Oh, Essie. My little miracle,” he cooed, finally openly emotional. He kissed me on the forehead. “This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life. But I know you’ll be strong,” he said, encircling me into a great big bear hug, just like the old days.
