Residing Dreams (Chapter 97)

Around noon,I took out the lunch Daddy had packed for me.It consisted of a turkey, cheese, and lettuce sub,a plum,a cookie, and some juice. At the bottom was a pink peice of lined paper.Slowly,I unfolded it.It read:Dear Essie,You are an amazing girl;beautiful on the inside and out.I want you to remember that you will always be my favorite person in the world, and that will never change.I hope that you enjoy your lunch, and I wish for you to know something.I have faced much internal conflict on the matter of my inner self. I want to be the most caring, devoted father possible, for you deserve the best. I promise that I will help myself in order to help you. You have already helped me more than I can ever explain to you, just by being the wonderful child you are.By embracing your true colors (in a very different way than in my case) you have given me the confidence and inspiration to embrace mine.We both have to remember that there is always a rainbow after the storm, and that we can survive it together. Love, Dad.
