Residing Dreams (Chapter 102)
All of the elegance was too much to take in at once.A grand chandellier hung from the ceiling;its crystal glass twinkling in the light.I could hear my footsteps on the shiny marble floor.Old photographs hung on the walls, and there were several lovely floral arrangements.A middle aged woman greeted us,and she extended her hand out to me. “Hello. You must be the mysterious Essie Miracle.Mr. Chrysanthemum notified us all that you were to reside here for the summer,” she told me. “Please, make yourself at home, but respect this estate and everything in it; for it all belongs to Mr. Chrysanthemum, the master. But you seem like a responsible, diligent girl, don’t you?” she went on, cupping her hand in my chin. “I promise, I will not cause any trouble,” I said. “That’s a good girl,” she responded. “By the way, my name is Ms. Ledezma, and I oversee the upkeep of this house,” she explained. “Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” I said, standing up straight. It would take a while to get used to all of these formalities.
