Lauren Stops Following
I was trying to be supportive of him. I was here at this get together with his friends to plan a final goodbye/birthday bash for Jessica. The girl he dated in high school, the girl who was his first. The girl everyone loves and who I secretly believe still holds his heart.
After being volunteered to bake a cake, and told how to do it, the conversation went to old times. There was no way I could participate. I excused myself, but nobody noticed, and went to the restroom.
I locked the door and sat on the floor and cried.
This wasn’t the first time I was left out. He always makes plans around what he wants. He took me to a football game, and had a tailgate party with his friends. He made me wear a jersey and bring all the desserts. I hate football.
Our first date was a concert, his favorite band.
He kissed me first. He held me first.
I guess I got caught up in the whirlwind around him and I let it happen. I just followed directions.
Well, that was about to stop.
I nabbed his car keys and left.
