I stared at her for a moment. I felt a bit angry, because I did know. I knew more than she did; more than the rest of the staff did on the matter of Casimir. I took a deep breath. “Sometimes compassion is vastly underesstimated through the eyes of a few. But those who truly understand compassion can comprehend the matter at hand. Trust me, there are things that Casimir has told me that he wouldn’t dare to tell any of you. So for the record, I’ve learned what bleeding and vomitting away one’s sorrows can do to a body. It isn’t pleasant. Life isn’t always going to be that way. But that’s no excuse to wash away hope, either,” I replied, solemnly. Ms. Ledezma considered my words, but was silent. She cleared her throat. “Very well,” she said brisky. “Where there is friendship, no one shall hinder it. Good day.” And that was that.
