Lunch with HIM
I blinked. Cam was ALWAYS surrounded by friends. They had ditched him? He must have something to say.
“Cam?”
“Beth! Just who I was waiting for! Sit!” He gestured to a chair. I sat across from him.
“I wrote you back.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded paper.
It read:
I think you’re smart
I think you’re cute
I asked you to the dance
You bought your dress
I rented my tux
I’ll pick you up at seven
I think you like me
I think I like you
I told my friends the truth.
“My poetry sucks. You’re better at it than me.”
“This is… Perfect!” Tears sprang to me eyes. I blinked them away. “You really told them?”
“Yeah. And as you can tell, they’ve abandoned me to my fate!” I giggled. “I’d rather spend lunch with you anyway.”
I blushed. “Thanks. You’re so sweet!”
He blushed then, but we changed the subject and had the best 15 minute lunch date ever!
I was in love! I was filled to the brim with happiness. I have never smiled this much in my entire life! I was sure I was glowing! He really was perfect!
