Anywhere But Here
I took a deep breath. Okay, it’s 11:00 at night, my father’s sleeping, my mother’s at the 9:00 mass still, Redley’s in my bedroom and Robin will be here in less then an hour. My mind searched desperately for a solution. My eyes float over to the faintly burning candles on the dining room table.
I could set the. . .No! Evy what are you crazy? Lighting things on fire will not help the situation!
I shook my head. Thats when I heard a knock on the door. For a second I froze, I creaked open the door. A smile stretched across my face.
“Oh Robin!” I whispered. I rushed toward him, my eyes closing. His warm embrace made me nearly laugh with relief. He chuckled quietly.
“Sorry I’m early,” He rasped. I kissed his lips gently.
“It’s just fine,” I spoke softly. Robin lifted me of the ground in one swift movement. He settled me into a carriage on the side of the road. After he climbed in after me, he asked me where to go.
“Anywhere’s but here,” I sighed.
