Never Again
” I can’t belive you!” I flinched as my father’s fist came down on the table.
“But father, I-”
“No! I don’t want to hear it! You’ve dishonored your family again! I know you were with him Evelyn. You have that spark in your eyes,” I looked away, a small tear escaping my eye.
“Evelyn, look at me,” He spoke a bit softer. I hesitated then turned. “You must never, ever see that boy again. Do you hear me?”
I suddenly began to sob, my breathing labored and heavy.
“Evelyn, do you hear me?” Unable to speak I nodded solemnly. He sat back down in his seat.
“Good, now go take that filthy night gown off and change in to something decent. Redley suprisingly after you abandoned him is coming to take you to town to pick out a chapel for your wedding. I felt the heavy dread pile onto my chest as I treaded out of his study and up the long staircase. All I could think of was Robin and our magical night together, but also how I could never see him again.
