Repentance Part 5

“Forgive me Father, for I have sinned.â€? He whispered, as they escorted him to the chamber. He looked around the room. He saw families, so many families. They all came to see their pleas of vengeance fulfilled. He felt sorrow. He was repentant.
He then saw, in the front row, his daughter. She was twenty-two. The last he had heard, she was in college, far away. But she had come. She had come for him.
“I told you!â€? He screamed, hysterical in his final hour, “I told you she’d come!â€?
The guards looked at him. They were scared. He was a killer. His daughter sat in the front row and stared at him as they strapped him into the machine. The warden began to speak. He didn’t care. His daughter had come. The daughter he loved so much.
“…for the murder of William Douglas…â€? He heard a mother cry out. He felt sorrow. He was repentant.
