Repentance Part 6--Completed

The list continued on, and many more mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children, and spouses cried out. He felt sorrow. He was repentant.
“Are there any last words?â€? The warden asked.
“She came!â€? He yelled. “I told you, I told you all!â€?
She looked at him, and he caught her stare. His cold eyes met hers. She had the same eyes. The same cold, uncaring eyes.
“I hate you.â€? She said, barely audible, but its effect was enormous. His daughter, the daughter he loved, the daughter he cared for, the daughter he had killed for. The only reason in this world he had for living. The only thing keeping him alive,
It was the stare that did it. The machine was turned on. She never stopped looking at him. He tried to hold her gaze, but couldn’t take it. He had no reason to live. He was sorrowful. He was repentant. Death came willingly.
