--can't do that--
“Listen, If I knew, I would tell you.”
“I don’t believe that at all.” The man glared at me.
“Well, I don’t know what to tell you then.”
I couldn’t let him know how scared I was. I knew there were ways to get the information out of me, ways to persuade anyone, but he didn’t necessarily know.
He sighed. “Audrey, this can be easy, or hard.”
How did he know my name? For a split second, I gave away my fear with a wince.
He knew now.. he knew I was scared.
I heard a twig snap, and looked into the bushes, seeing the horrified face of Grant.
“So he’s here?” the man said expectantly. “Hello Grant.”
“Let her go.” He stepped out of his hiding spot.
The man stayed silent, staring at Grant. “Why, what happened to your ears? That must’ve been.. painful.”
He sounded like a complete maniac. I could tell he was angry, yet at the same time excited. He knew Grant.
“Let her go!” Grant screamed again.
Suddenly, ten guards jumped into the area, grabbing his arms and pulling him down.
“I can’t do that.”
