“I would like to get to know you too,â€? I say in a nice voice.

He gets up, “Would you like to go for a walk? We can get to know each other?â€?

“Sure,â€? I say and smile again.

He takes my hand and I stand up. We walk down the stairs and I hear my sister giggling again. I glance around the corner and see them really close. She is once again in his lap and she is looking into his eyes. I feel a tug from Edwin and he opens the door for me. He lets me walk out first and then closes the door behind him. We walk hand and hand down the neighborhood.

“If I may ask, did you have a boyfriend before the…â€? His voice trails. I can tell he is uncomfortable with this too.

“No, I did not. Did you have a girlfriend?â€? I ask back.

“No, I did not. I was more focused on my studies at my school.â€? I blink twice. I have never heard a guy say that in my life.
