The 13th Curse part 6
I whipped my head around to see who it was, and my heart started thundering.
Then I saw him.
Chapter 2
He was lean and tall, pretty much an athlete, maybe baseball. He had black hair up to the bottom of his neck, and pointed bangs that shield his eyes. He was wearing ragged jeans and a mint green sweatshirt. Compared to my height, I was probably up to his nose or forehead. His skin was the glowing color of bronze in the sunset, much like my own, and his eyes were the creamy color of coffee. He looked weary like he hadn’t slept in two days; yet, he had the smile of an all-star winner, holding the winning cup proudly over his head as if he had changed history.
We kept our gaze locked for, goodness who knows how long? His creamy eyes combined with my dark amber ones. I was sure I forgot how to breathe. Suddenly, I was acutely aware of Vanessa by my side, repeating my name, trying to get my attention.
