Nothing happened.

Whatever the two things were, they were nothing I’d ever known of.

It slowly crawled up my arm… no, not crawled.

It grew.

Once the whatever-it-was reached my shoulder, my wrists somehow connected, and the two separate things fused together, and the rest of it that reached up my arm retracted down to where the rest of it bundled around my hands.

“What are you doing to me?â€? I asked, horrified.

“Get ready to go. We’re going for a ride.â€?

“You’re sick,â€? I hissed.

“Get your things, then we’ll go.â€?

“And how do you expect me to pick anything up?â€?

“We’re not stupid, Regan. How’d you move the knife?â€?

I growled. “Let’s go.â€?

“Oh, nothing you need?â€?

I mustered up the meanest look I could on my face. I hoped he saw it. “Let’s go,â€? I repeated.

“Okay, out this way,â€? he said, walking out the door.

“I know how to get out of the house, thank you.â€? I made sure to slam the door on my way out.
